This Privacy Policy describes how Shelfee processes and protects personal data in connection with the Service.
Data We Process
We collect and process the following categories of data:
- Account Data: email address, authentication identifiers (hashed passwords via Supabase), and user IDs.
- Verification Data: email verification codes and timestamps (stored as hashed codes).
- Inventory Data: item names, quantities, thresholds, locations (rooms, racks, boxes), categories, stores, shopping list entries, and notes.
- Photos & Media: item photos you upload to help identify products.
- Device & Technical Data: device information, IP address, and logs for security and diagnostics.
Purpose & Legal Basis
- To provide and maintain the Service.
- To ensure security, fraud prevention, and diagnostics (legitimate interests).
- To send verification and account-related emails (legitimate interests).
- To provide user support and communication (legitimate interests / consent where applicable).
Processors & Sharing
We use trusted processors that act on our instructions and are bound by data protection obligations:
- Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage)
- Resend (transactional email delivery for verification)
We do not sell personal data.
International Transfers
Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure protection.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and meet legal requirements. When you delete your account, associated data is removed unless retention is required by law. Verification codes expire after a short period (typically 10 minutes).
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, rectify, or erase your data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Request portability of your data.
Requests can be made via info@shelfee.eu. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA).
Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method is 100% secure; you are also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
Cookies & Analytics
The Shelfee app does not use cookies. The website does not use analytics or tracking cookies.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or by email when appropriate.
